When most people think of a language learning app, they usually think of Duolingo. Founded and based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Duolingo is one of the most prominent language learning apps, due in part to it's wide accessibility. Instead of requiring users to pay for a subscription, Duolingo gives its users the option to use the app for free or subscribe to Super Duolingo, which adds some extra features like unlimited hearts and no ads. Duolingo offers a wide variety of languages and a simple, easy-to-use interface. The app almost plays like a game, including an in-app currency called gems. As time goes on, the Duolingo team continues to add more and more features and improvements to ultimately better users' language learning experiences!
