17th Annual

Life AcT Light Walk

Please join LifeAct in shining a light on depression awareness and suicide prevention at our 17th Annual Into the Light Walk at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on October 17, 2021 at 6pm.

This event is an evening gathering for students, educators, families, adults -- anyone and everyone-- who has been touched by suicide or who just wants to help breakdown the stigma associated with depression, suicide, and mental health.

Register Here

The evening will include the following:

· A twilight reflective walk through Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to remember those we have lost, provide space for healing, build community, and support suicide survivors

· Informational booths by local mental health organizations

· Words from inspirational speakers

· Music from North Royalton High School's Royal Harmony choir

· Food by Augie's Pizza and Ribs

Your participation in this event will support LifeAct in our mission to prevent teen suicide by teaching young people to recognize symptoms of depression and signs of suicide, and to access professional help for themselves and their peers.

college visit Questions

As we head into the fall and many of you begin to schedule college visits, there are so many components of a school to take into consideration. From academics to student life, check out these College Visit Questions to help guide your visit!

Now through November 4, 2021, applications are being accepted from young leaders, age 14-18, who bring powerful vision and real change to financial and societal challenges in their communities.

Emerging Visionaries is a national recognition program that awards young people who have innovative solutions to financial or societal challenges in their communities. Its mission is to motivate students to think deeper about critical societal issues and inspire innovation.

Those selected may qualify for up to $15,000 in awards, an all-expenses paid trip with their parent or guardian to Prudential headquarters — as well as coaching and skills development to help take their innovation to the next level. Prudential Emerging Visionaries is a collaboration between Prudential Financial and Ashoka, a leading social impact organization. Financial health advisory support is provided by the Financial Health Network.

Emerging Visionaries is the evolution of Prudential's long-running Spirit of Community Awards program, which for 26 years has honored over 150,000 outstanding youth volunteers. This revitalized program refines that focus, by asking young people to create solutions specifically geared to financial and societal challenges.
