LCDR Jonathan Wallace, USN (Ret)
Senior Naval Science Instructor
LCDR Jonathan Wallace is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and a 2003 graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College with a degree in finance and economics. He was commissioned in September 2003 through Officer Candidate School and designated a submarine officer. He completed Naval Nuclear Power School in 2004 and Nuclear Prototype Training followed by the Submarine Officer Basic Course in 2005. He holds a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of South Carolina.
He reported to his first ship USS Florida (SSGN 728) in 2005 and served as the Chemistry and Radiological Controls Assistant (CRA), Damage Control Assistant, and Assistant Operations Officer until 2008. While onboard FLORIDA he completed one CENTCOM deployment.
LCDR Wallace served a GSA tour in Afghanistan after FLORIDA until December 2009 in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom. While in Afghanistan he mentored officers from the Afghan National Army
(ANA) and worked closely with U.S and French Forces for engineering and logistics support. LCDR
Wallace went on to teach ROTC at his Alma Matter the University of South Carolina from 2010 to 2012.
In 2012 LCDR Wallace reported to the Submarine Officer Advanced Course and then to the USS CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI (SSN 705) as Weapons Officer. On CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI he completed one
WESTPAC deployment. LCDR Wallace transferred to Submarine Group Seven (CTF 54/74) located in
Yokosuka Japan in April 2015. There he worked as an operations officer, Strike Officer, and SSGN officer
until April 2017. LCDR Wallace reported to USINDOPACOM J571 in May of 2017 to serve as Branch Chief
for Nuclear Plans and Policy and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Plans and Policy. LCDR
Wallace’s final tour was as an exchange operations officer at CTF 311 Northwood in London, UK from
2020 to 2023. He served with the UK Royal Navy.
After retiring from the Navy, LCDR Wallace started his own Investment Advice business and occasionally
works as a DJ for a side gig. He regularly volunteers with the Boy Scouts and with his church. His
hobbies include weight lifting, strategy games, recreational sports, hiking and camping, discussing
philosophy and going on adventures with his family.
LCDR Wallace’s personal decorations include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service
Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and Navy and
Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter in
November 2022. He is married to the former Jamie Renae Sturdevant, also from Columbia, SC. Together
they have three boys, ages three, nine, and twelve, and one girl age six.
Chief Nevin Rudloff, USN (Ret)
Naval Science Instructor
Chief Petty Officer Rudloff was born in Shakopee Minnesota, and raised in Lakewood Colorado. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1991 and entered the work force. In 1993 he enlisted in the United States Navy and attended Recruit Training Command in San Diego California. He graduated with honors and was meritoriously promoted to Seaman Apprentice.
Seaman Apprentice Rudloff attended Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton Connecticut, and received orders to Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) Rhode Island SSBN 740 Gold Crew. While awaiting the Rhode Island Commissioning, Seaman Rudloff earned his enlisted submarine warfare Silver Dolphins while on a Deterrent Patrol on board the USS West Virginia SSBN 736
Blue.
Petty Officer Rudloff completed a total of 8 deterrent patrols while serving on board USS Rhode Island over the next 3 years. Petty Officer Rudloff was honorably separated from the US Navy in July of 1997 and entered the workforce in the Restaurant industry. He and his wife opened and operated an Italian Restaurant in Wheat Ridge Colorado for a total of 8 years. Petty Officer 3rd Class Rudloff joined the US Navy Reserve in March of 2000 and was promoted to Petty Officer 2nd class while serving with the USS Frank Cable AS-40 Det B. Petty Officer Rudloff completed a total of 4 Annual Trainings on board the Cable.
Petty Officer Rudloff was offered a recruiting job with Navy Recruiting District Denver in March of 2005 and was promoted to Petty Officer 1st Class. After NRD Denver, he was transferred to NRD Richmond VA and was stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico for the next 3 years. He was then transferred to NRD Raleigh and was the Recruiter in Charge of NRS Columbia South Carolina. Upon another successful tour as a Recruiter in Charge, Petty Officer Rudloff was then transferred to NRD Michigan and was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in charge of the western half of Michigan.
Chief Rudloff completed his recruiting tour in Charleston South Carolina where he was the Division Leading Chief for the Charleston, Beaufort, and Summerville areas. He then took over as Command Trainer for Navy Talent Acquisition Group Carolina where he trained all recruiting stations in North and South Carolina. He retired in February 2024.
Chief Rudloff has been Married to his bride Jeannie Rudloff for 23 years, and they have 3 wonderful daughters, an amazing son and two beautiful grand daughters and a grandson.
Chief Rudloff has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with 2 Gold stars in lieu of his 3rd award. Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Silver and Gold Stars in lieu of 7th award, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct medal 7 awards, and various campaign medals and ribbons throughout his service.
