Letter from the Coach:

Welcome Blue Dukes Swim and Dive Team

We are ready to get going with the 2024 Season.   Last year we had unprecedented success.  Conference champs! Sectional Champs! Second place as a team at State!  This team has been building on the foundations established many years ago to reach these new heights.  Good students being good people create our great atmosphere.  Friendships made during your High School season will last a lifetime.   Our season is very short (roughly three months) so it will be intense.  Keeping yourself rested and having proper nutrition will go a long way.

We have had a whirlwind of activity and planning recently.  Our first practice is Tuesday, August 13th.

1. ALL swimmers need to turn in the necessary paperwork before they are allowed to get in the water or participate in practice. All of this information is completed online through your Skyward Access, but I have also provided you with the forms as needed. Here are the following requirements:

1. $175 Athletic Fee (One athlete)

2. Physical Card (Or Alternate Year Form) **

3. Athletic Code Signed

4. Insurance Forms

**If you are an incoming freshman, or last had a physical prior to April 1, 2024, you will need to have a physical examination. If neither situation applies to you, you will simply need to fill out the Physical Alternate Year Form.

2. We will be having a Family and Parent meeting on Wednesday, August 16th @ 5:15pm in the pool area. This will be a chance for me to introduce myself to your families, provide a breakdown of our season, and work with your wonderful families to help coordinate many of our team events. This will ensure we have a great communication system so your success is our utmost priority! Feel free to bring any questions or concerns you may have to this meeting. Since our girls will already be here for practice, your attendance is greatly encouraged!

3. Next, you will need a second check for your team suit. If you have any concerns with sizes or fitting, please communicate with one of our current team members. They will be happy to help you and have plenty of suits for you to try on. We can tend to any need you may have in this situation. Once we have a total number of girls, we will have an idea of the cost and the suit can be purchased then. I will keep you updated!

4. Finally, the month of August is going to be very busy for us. For some of us, the amount of physical exertion will be a dramatic switch, but one that will be monitored accordingly. We will be working out twice a day, for a large majority of our time in August.  Please see the attached schedule for practice times. This, of course, is all subject to change as we as a coaching staff see fit. Beyond our practice schedule, we also have two meets, and hopefully, a car wash and team activity planned. Be ready to be active and dedicated! Here's just a small list of things that should be with you on deck:

Required: Goggles, Suit, caps (provided), kickboard (provided), pull buoy (provided), water bottle, fins

Optional, but strongly urged: Training paddles, snorkels

Dryland: tennis shoes and socks, shorts, t-shirt, water bottle, light snack

Our coaching staff is here to help your student athlete be the best they can be and exceed their expectations.  Open communication is a must for all in order to be successful.

If you have any questions,  never hesitate to reach out to me.

Dukes on 3!
