Share the Love

When this church opened its doors in 1886, it was the loving support of our founder's Belgian community that raised the building and kept it in good repair and well furnished. Back then, if anyone in the community needed anything, other members were there without being asked. We all know times change, and now our community is spread far and wide, and most aren't just around the corner when the church is in need. What we do have is a loving, committed congregation and we are grateful beyond words.

Still, we are a non-profit organization and do not get assistance from the state. So when the furnace needs repair or the lawn mower gives up the ghost, we have to rely on our members and visitors' contributions to stay afloat. Many years we are operating in the red, and in some tough years that might mean Mary and Dale might not get paid for their tireless service to this church. Our Church building is more than 100 years old, and while we are grateful that it has weathered many storms, there is always something that needs to be fixed.

How can you contribute? Every membership, store purchase, or donation helps to not only maintain our building and cemeteries, but also to ensure that Reverend Mary and her husband Dale (treasurer, handyman, groundskeeper, cook) get paid for their services. Without them, this church would not be operating. At the writing of this page, Dale is 80 years old and still does most of the maintenance and all of the groundskeeping of the church and it's two cemeteries by himself. We are always grateful for volunteers.
