Centenary Sixes Rules

There are two leagues - Tuesday night for WHHC Men's Club and Thursday night for WHHC Women's Club

Teams will have a maximum of 8 players with 6 players permitted on field at any one time, rolling substitutions are permitted.

Teams will be generated by WHHC and populated with players who have signed up to play.

You will be allocated to the same team for the duration of the tournament. We will aim to have a balance of players from across the breadth of the club in each team.


Playing Regulations

Games will consist of two halves of 12 minutes, with a 2 minute half time break.

Teams will play two fixtures per evening.

Fixtures will be organised centrally and published on this website, teams failing to fulfil a fixture will be deemed to have lost the game 0-5.

4 points are awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss and 0 points for a concession / failure to fulfil a fixture.

The normal rules of hockey will be played with the exceptions of:

a) Teams do not need to field a goalkeeper

bi) Penalty corners can be awarded, but cannot be scored directly from a shot or a flick.

bii) The defending team can have a maximum of 3 players defending the PC, the other players must stand in the opposite D until the ball has been injected.

c.i.) Goals are scored in the normal way from inside the D. However, goals scored will have a different tariff based upon the player who scores the goal.

c.ii) Goal values will be as shown here:

1st/2nd team goal scorer = 1 goal

3rd / 4th / Masters goal scorer = 2 goals

5th team / U15 goal scorer = 3 goals

Goal Keepers playing outfield = Team tariff x 2
