Membership

 To be eligible, a journalist must:

• Be a foreign correspondent.

• Be accredited by the White House Press Office 

• Work for foreign-based or international media serving non-U.S. audiences.

• Adhere to the WHFMG Code of Ethics.

Membership Categories:

Tier 1

• Based in Washington, D.C.

• Covers the White House at least three days per week.

•  Holds all three credentials mentioned above:

1. White House credential

2. Congressional ID

3. Foreign Press Center or State Department credential

Eligible for:

•   Official assignments

•   Voting

•  Be elected in the Executive Committee

Tier 2

• Based in the D.C. area

• Covers broader U.S. policy

• Holds at least the White House credential

•  Not eligible for official assignment participation or to hold office

•  Has voting rights, but cannot be elected to the Executive Committee
