Whaea Ana Pene, Te Whakatōhea, Rongowhakaata
Whaea Ana has been connected to Fairfield School since 2015, working alongside Greg, Kathryne, Aimee and the rest of the staff, to ensure kaupapa Māori and kapa haka is supported in school.
Ana is a descendant of Te Whakatōhea and Rongowhakaata, her lineage coming from the East Coast of Te Ika a Maui, though is also a first generation descendant of the Urban Migration to Te Waipounamu in the 1950s. She has four sons and she lives locally with her whānau, supporting different schools and their endeavours in to te ao Māori.
