Themes:
A. When embarking on a journey that poses imminent danger, you must be prepared. Letting impulsivity overtake thoughtful strategizing could result in failure.
B. Having rules doesn’t necessarily mean that people are going to follow them. Unheard voices will still find ways to rise up and revolt, even under the most confining and heinous leadership.
C. Preserving child-like innocence is a two-fold combination of objective honesty or concealing parts of the truth.
D. There is a direct connection between passion and intellect, creating the constant longing for more knowledge. Some people are unable to counteract their curiosities due to genetic makeup. It may be impossible to lessen their desires, impulses, and drive infused in their bloodline since ancestral times.
E. Sometimes, knowing more will hurt you and it’s better to just not know at all, and simply be content with your current security.
F. Herbs are the way of life and the secret to longevity. This truth is in front of our faces, but society has stripped us of this knowledge to further repress us. Herbs have the power to heal, but the more time that passes where we follow the institutionalized direction, the more the confusion ensues.
Non- Traditional Writing Choices:
Minimal character detailing. I want each character's place in the story to be clear. Each character represents some sort of right or subjective hobby. I felt that if I went too in depth on their histories, physical features, etc., that it would take away from the message of the story. I also want parts of the creativity to be left to the reader. This allows them to connect with the story and fill the subjective gaps in their own exciting ways.
World building is active throughout the entirety of the story. I didn't want to bore the reader by setting up the scene for a big hunk during the start of the book. The mystery lies from front to back; if I told you what happened leading up to, it would take away the impact of the outcome. I want to keep the reader on their toes every second. I want the same creativity (applied to the characters) from the reader to be applied to the story's world.
NO AI Usage whatsoever. My morality feels as though AI should not have infiltrated the art space in any shape or form. Most long-term readers feel the same as well. This ensures trust is built into my relationship with my reader. Every part of the book was created by me.
Minimal romance. Romance has become a very popular genre over the years. I am thankful for certain Authors bringing light back to the bookish space. Although I do celebrate romantic Authors, I wanted my book's themes to be strong. Love is a natural occurence in close-knit relationships. This is seen partially in my work, but I wanted to keep the romance factor on the lighter side. In my research, this has been another preference for some long- term readers. This allows the themes introduced to not be overshadowed.
Originality. Another gap some long-term readers are noticing is that there is no originality in different works. They feel as though they are reading the same story, with recycled names and places. My story is completely unique in my writing style. I pride myself on being naturally formal, while also relating to all types of readers. I try to keep my wording simple, yet beautiful. The story itself is also unique, as I have not heard about anything in comparision within all media forms. I pride myself on the story being matchless.
Balance of men and women. The last gap I hoped to fill with my story, in researching long-term readers preferences, is that men feel as though the stories are becoming more geared towards women. As a tomboy woman myself, I understand both sides of the coin. I ensured that I had main characters from all representations of genders. The primary protagonists are both a girl and boy, which allowed me that flexibility.
