Chapter 1 General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these Terms of Service is to stipulate the terms, conditions, procedures, and the rights, duties, and responsibilities of the Company and the User regarding the location-based tourist information inquiry and travel record sharing service (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") provided by Whego.
Article 2 (Definitions)
"App" refers to the Whego application installed and used by the User on a smartphone.
"Service" refers collectively to the following functions provided within the App:
Current location-based tourist spot inquiry and detailed information viewing
Radius setting and filter functions
Bookmark (Favorites) and travelogue recording/sharing functions
Comment writing on posts and user communication functions
"User" refers to members and non-members who agree to these Terms and use the Service.
Chapter 2 Service Use Agreement
Article 3 (Establishment of Use Agreement) The use agreement is established when the Company accepts the user's application for membership or non-member inquiry after agreeing to these Terms.
Article 4 (Membership Registration and Management)
Accurate information must be entered upon registration.
Service use may be restricted if false information is entered or another person's information is stolen.
Article 5 (Restriction of Service Use) The Company or the User may restrict use or terminate the agreement after prior notice if the following reasons occur:
Violation of Terms
Interference with system operation
Other fraudulent use
Chapter 3 Provision and Modification of Service
Article 6 (Provision of Service) The Company provides the Service 24 hours a day, but it may be temporarily suspended due to facility inspection, failure, or updates.
Article 7 (Modification of Service)
The Company may change the service contents or suspend some functions if necessary for operation.
In the case of the following major function changes, notice will be given via App announcement or email:
Addition/deletion of filter options (category, distance, rating, etc.)
Changes in the radius setting method (steps, default values, etc.)
Changes in the operation method of bookmarks and comments
Large-scale reorganization of the map display method (marker style, color, etc.)
Chapter 4 Use of Location Information
Article 8 (Consent to Collection and Use of Location Information)
The App collects GPS and network-based location information for searching tourist spots and setting the radius.
Collected items: Latitude, longitude, radius setting value
Purpose of use: Inquiry of nearby tourist spots, map radius display
Retention period: Disposed of immediately after collection and stored only in the App's internal storage; completely deleted 30 days after account withdrawal.
The User explicitly consents to the collection and use of location information, and if consent is withdrawn, service use may be restricted.
Article 9 (Use and Third-Party Provision of Location Information)
The App does not provide or sell the User's location information to third parties.
However, if the User uses the 'Share' function within the Service to post or transmit content containing their location (e.g., travelogues) to a third party, such information is deemed publicly disclosed and provided with the User's consent.
The Company is not responsible for damages to the User or third parties arising from the User sharing content containing location information.
Chapter 5 Advertising
Article 10 (Placement of Advertising) The Company may place advertisements of the Company or third parties on this Service provided free of charge.
Chapter 6 User Content
Article 11 (Copyright and License of Content)
The copyright of travelogues, reviews, comments, etc. (hereinafter "Content") registered by the User belongs to the author.
The Company has a non-exclusive right to reproduce, modify, display, and distribute the User's Content free of charge for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service.
Article 12 (Content Management and Deletion) The Company may delete or restrict exposure without prior notice and take action to restrict use if the User's Content is deemed to fall under any of the following:
Slandering or defaming others
Obscene or violent content violating public order and morals
Commercial advertising comments or spam posts
Infringing on the rights, such as copyrights, of others
Other cases violating relevant laws and service operation principles
Chapter 7 User's Duties and Precautions
Article 13 (Compliance Matters)
The User must comply with these Terms and relevant laws (e.g., Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information).
The following acts are prohibited:
Reverse engineering the Service
Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use
Continuous criticism, stalking, or harassment targeting specific users
Abuse of mass/automated bookmarks and comment functions causing server overload
Distorting normal search results or registering spam using the filter function
Disguising the source of the Service or infringing on third-party rights
Acts violating relevant laws, such as misusing navigation while driving
Chapter 8 Disclaimer
Article 14 (Limitation of Liability)
The Company is not responsible for service interruptions or errors caused by force majeure such as natural disasters or system failures.
The Company is not responsible for damages caused by location errors, data inaccuracies, or network failures unless there is intent or gross negligence by the Company.
The Company is not responsible for disputes or accidents with third parties arising from the User's use of this Service.
Chapter 9 Privacy Policy
Article 15 (Application of Privacy Policy) Collected personal information (email, nickname, location info, etc.) is processed in accordance with the separate [Privacy Policy].
Chapter 10 Termination of Agreement and Restriction on Re-registration
Article 16 (Termination of Use Agreement) The User may stop and terminate the use of the Service at any time, and re-registration may be restricted for one month after termination.
Article 17 (Restriction of Use) The Company may terminate the use agreement or temporarily/permanently restrict use in case of violation of relevant laws or these Terms.
Chapter 11 Miscellaneous
Article 18 (Amendment of Terms) When amending the Terms, notice will be given via App announcement and email. If the User does not express intent to refuse, they are deemed to have agreed.
Article 19 (Dispute Resolution) The governing law for these Terms is the law of the Republic of Korea. In case of a dispute, the competent court of the location shall be the court of first instance.
