I’m so honored to be serving as PTA President for the upcoming school year. This fall, my boys will be in 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 1st grade at Wheeler!
I’ve been involved with the PTA since 2020, starting as a classroom liaison and later chairing our beloved annual carnival. In 2023, I stepped into the role of PTA President, and I’m excited to continue for one more year as I wrap up my three-year term.
My goal as president is to foster strong parent and teacher involvement. I truly believe that when we work together, our school community thrives. I encourage all faculty and parents to join the PTA—every member’s role can look different, and every contribution matters.
If you have any questions about how to get involved or what the commitment looks like, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Hello! I am Metta West and in my third year as PTA vice president. My sons, Keller and Bennett, will be in 5th and 3rd grades this fall. I work at Farm Credit Services of America and love spending free time watching my boys play ball, socializing with friends and family, and enjoying nature.
I joined Wheeler PTA when Keller started kindergarten at Wheeler in 2020 and have managed the classroom parents and parties for the past four years, along with volunteering at various other PTA events. I handle many of the Wheeler PTA Facebook posts, so be sure to submit post ideas to me and share what's posted on the page--one of my goals as VP is to let you all know what PTA is up to and how you can join in the fun!
Hi! My name is Haley Byers, and I’m excited to be serving my third year as the PTA Treasurer!
In addition to balancing the budget, I also chair the Carnival Silent Auction, manage the Wheeler Marquee shoutouts, and volunteer at several PTA events throughout the year. My husband, Jacob, and I are thrilled to have all three of our boys at Wheeler this year—Gavin in 5th grade, Grady in 1st, and Garet starting Kindergarten!
Outside of PTA, I work full-time at Farm Credit Services of America as a Product Owner for our appraisal systems. I’m proud to be a Millard native and a graduate of Millard North. Supporting Millard’s schools, staff, and students is something I’m truly passionate about, and I’m looking forward to another great year with our Wheeler community!
Hi! I’m Nicole Emerson, your PTA Secretary.
I’ve been an active member of the Wheeler PTA since my kids started here in 2021. My husband and I have three kids—Graham, who’s now a 7th grader at Beadle, and Chloe (5th grade) and Colette (3rd grade), who are proud Wildcats.
Over the years, I’ve loved being part of the Wheeler community—chairing Movie Night, helping out at the school carnival, and pitching in wherever I can. I’m excited to step into a more formal role as Secretary this year and continue supporting our students, teachers, and families in new ways.
I also work for the Omaha Parks Foundation, and I’m looking forward to bringing some creative and fun ideas to our events and activities this year. I’m always happy to connect—see you around school!
