DEWEL 17.8LBS Compact Portable Washing Machine Review: 10 Wash Programs, Quiet Operation & Space-Saving Design
The DEWEL 17.8LBS Compact Portable Washing Machine is designed for people who need convenient laundry care without dedicating an entire room to a full-size washer. With a compact body measuring 18.5 × 18.5 × 31.1 inches, this top-load, fully automatic washing machine fits into apartments, dorm rooms, RVs, and other small living spaces. Its 36-liter stainless steel drum provides room for everyday clothing, towels, and smaller laundry loads.
The washer features electronic controls, an LED display, 10 wash programs, and eight water levels to accommodate different laundry needs. Wash cycles range from 21 to 61 minutes, and the 1–24-hour delay-start function allows users to schedule laundry around their daily routines. Its 680 RPM spin cycle helps extract water from clothes, while the manufacturer specifies a 56 dB operating noise level.
Additional features include child lock, door-lock protection, automatic tub cleaning, and an air-dry function designed to help keep the drum fresh between washes. With its compact dimensions and automatic operation, the DEWEL washer offers a practical laundry option for people who have limited space or no dedicated laundry room.
Advantages, Disadvantages, Strengths & Weaknesses
Advantages, Disadvantages, Strengths & Weaknesses
One of the DEWEL washing machine's biggest strengths is its space-saving design. Traditional washing machines can be difficult to accommodate in small apartments, dormitories, and recreational vehicles. This compact model offers an alternative for users who want convenient laundry access without installing a full-size appliance.
Its 10 wash programs and eight water levels provide useful flexibility. The LED display and electronic controls make it easier to select settings, while the 21–61-minute cycle range offers options for different loads and schedules. The 24-hour delay start is another practical benefit, allowing users to arrange wash cycles around work, study, or rest.
The 680 RPM spin speed helps remove water before clothes are transferred to a drying rack. Suspension rods, shock pads, and anti-collision damping are designed to reduce vibration and noise, while the stated 56 dB operating level may appeal to people living in shared spaces. Child lock, door-lock protection, and automatic tub cleaning add convenience for household use.
However, the 17.8-pound capacity means this washer is better suited to everyday and smaller laundry loads than large family loads, bulky bedding, or extensive laundry accumulated over several days. Users may need to run multiple cycles when washing larger quantities. Its compact dimensions also do not eliminate the need to check available water connections, drainage arrangements, and installation clearance before purchasing.
The 680 RPM spin cycle helps extract moisture, but it does not replace a dedicated dryer. The 56 dB figure is a stated operating specification, and actual noise may vary depending on installation, load balance, and floor conditions.
Overall, the DEWEL portable washing machine is a practical option for renters, students, RV owners, and small households who prioritize compact dimensions, automatic controls, flexible wash settings, and scheduled laundry over large-capacity washing.
