We have grassy areas and parks with clean air. Just outside Aberdeen city there are lots of forests. Our air is not as clean as it is in the countryside because of all of the cars, buses, vans and lorries. Our school is in the city centre beside a busy road with traffic lights and a roundabout so lots of cars and large vehicles are stopped outside our playground. We are also near the sea and the beach so the air there is clean. Hanover Street School, UK.

Fortunately we live in a natural environment free of pollution. Our school is in the main town of an island in the Ionian sea, Corfu. The town’s population is not so large and the wind from the sea blows all year long.
Every school year a grade is involved in green projects at school. For example, last month the 4th grade of our school completed a project on aquifer, stocks of water and their sustainable management.

The environmental problems we have are water pollution (Tagus River). Many fish died because of factories that polluted the river. We also have a problem with a Power Plant in Spain (near the Portuguese border) which causes air pollution and is very dangerous.
We use containers to separate plastic and metal, glass and another one for paper and cardboard. Our school has different gardens and this beautiful vegetable garden. It is made by us.
