Appi, recognized as Japan's Best Ski Resort by World Ski Awards in both 2022 and 2023, is nestled in Iwate Prefecture in northern Japan's main island. The resort sits just 46 minutes from Morioka, a city that earned the #2 spot on The New York Times' 2023 travel list and is easily accessible via a 130-minute Shinkansen bullet train ride from Tokyo. Our conference got a great deal on the lift pass! The daily pass is about 50 USD compared to about 300 USD in major US ski resorts. Ski/snowboard set rentals are also available for about 50 USD/day.
