There are many ways for individuals, organizations, agencies, and communities to support and get involved with the Wyoming Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council (WFCYAPC) as we work to strengthen Wyoming's child welfare system through the voices of those with lived experience. Whether you are a current or former foster youth, a child welfare professional, a policymaker, a community leader, or an ally, your partnership can help create meaningful and lasting change.

The Wyoming Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council was established to ensure that youth and alumni with lived experience have a permanent seat at the table where decisions are made. By working collaboratively with the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS), state agencies, legislators, tribal partners, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders, we strive to develop recommendations that improve outcomes for children, youth, and families across Wyoming.

As our council continues to grow, we invite you to become part of this statewide movement. Every voice, every partnership, and every contribution helps strengthen our mission of creating a child welfare system that listens to, values, and is informed by lived experience.

Ways You Can Support and Get Involved with WFCYAPC

Become a Council Member
If you are a current or former foster youth or foster care alum, apply to serve on the council and help develop recommendations that improve Wyoming's child welfare system.

Share Your Lived Experience
Your experiences matter. By sharing your story, you help inform policy recommendations, educate decision-makers, and inspire positive change for future generations of foster youth.

Partner with the Council
We welcome partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, tribal governments, educational institutions, businesses, advocacy organizations, and community leaders committed to improving outcomes for children and families.

Support Our Policy Work
Help us identify challenges, research best practices, and develop recommendations that strengthen child welfare policies, services, and programs throughout Wyoming.

Volunteer Your Time and Expertise
Professionals in law, behavioral health, education, communications, research, public policy, fundraising, event planning, and nonprofit leadership can provide valuable guidance and support to the council.
