WeWrite! Call for Submissions: Potluck (Digital Zine)
WeWrite! is turning 2 and we’re celebrating! We invite you to join our first zine, Potluck.
Potluck is inspired by our Nevada Arts Council-supported class, Kain Tayo. This Tagalog phrase literally translates to “let’s eat”. Culturally, it’s an expression that we use to greet each other, to welcome each other in. Inspired by that class, we call you to think about what you would bring to the table of community, what has nourished and sustained you? Is it family, a lesson you come back to, sunset, your favorite scent, your pet cat…? We want to celebrate all the ways people come together, “feed” one another, and make space for connection. You can write about food directly; you can also think about what nourishes you or connects you to others. Potluck is about community, care, and all the ways we say, “come join us.”
How to submit:
1) Fill out this Google form (will be available Monday, September 29, 8:00 am PDT)
2) We invite anyone who is a part of the WeWrite! community to submit poetry (max 4 pages, start each poem on a new page doc/ pdf), prose (micro, flash, short story, excerpt, script, essay, max 1200 words doc/ pdf, double spaced) or visual art (max 3 high-res images jpeg/png).
