# We Will Die — Terms of Use

By downloading or using We Will Die (the "App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
## 1. What the App is, and is not
We Will Die is a reflection tool. It takes a birth date and a lifespan **that you choose**, and shows you illustrative numbers: a percentage, a count of days, weeks, Saturdays, and a life calendar. It sends reminders you configure and lets you write private notes.
**The App does not predict anything.** The lifespan is an assumption you enter, not a forecast. The App is not a medical, actuarial, psychological, or financial service. It does not diagnose, treat, or give advice about your health or life expectancy, and nothing in it should be used to make medical, financial, or legal decisions.
**The App is not a crisis service.** If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line. The App's support screen lists resources, but we cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy, and the App cannot respond to you.
## 2. Who may use the App
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, and at least the age of majority in your country to make purchases (or have a parent or guardian's permission). The App is rated 12+ on the App Store because its subject is mortality.
## 3. Your content
Reflections, One Thing entries, life moments, intentions, and any other text you write belong to you. They are stored only on your device. We do not receive them, claim any rights in them, or moderate them. You are responsible for backing them up; the App provides an export under You › Privacy & data.
## 4. Free features and premium
The core of the App is free: your percentage and countdown, a daily thought, one daily reminder, the life calendar, One Thing, and the small widget. Premium ("We Will Die Forever", a one-time purchase, or "Yearly", an auto-renewing subscription) unlocks additional reminder tones, timing, and topics, all widgets and Lock Screen widgets, life moments, unlimited reflections and intentions, share-card styles, and appearance options. The exact feature list is shown in the App before you buy.
Free features are never removed by an update. Data you created while free is never deleted when a limit applies; it remains on your device and is shown again if you unlock premium.
## 5. Purchases, subscriptions, and refunds
- Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are governed by their terms. Prices are shown in the store before you confirm.
- **Yearly** renews automatically each year at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- **Forever** is a one-time purchase for the lifetime of the App on the platforms where it is offered.
- Purchases are tied to your Apple or Google account and can be restored on a new device with "Restore purchases" in the App. Family Sharing is enabled where the store supports it.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly, but we will help you find the right place to ask.
- If we ever discontinue the App, Forever purchasers will not be charged again, and the App will keep working on your device as long as your operating system supports it.
## 6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the App except where the law allows it; remove or obscure the "We Will Die" wordmark on share cards when the App does not offer that option; use the App's content, reminders, or design to build a competing product; or use the App in any way that is unlawful or harms others.
You may freely share the cards and screenshots the App creates for you.
## 7. Intellectual property
The App, its design, its reminder and reflection copy, and the "We Will Die" name and mark are owned by the developer and protected by copyright and trademark law. Quotations attributed to historical authors are used from public-domain sources. The App includes open-source software and fonts (Instrument Serif and Inter under the SIL Open Font License) whose licences are listed under You › About › Licences.
## 8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what the App stores and what leaves your device. In short: no account, no analytics, no server that holds your data; only purchase receipts go to Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under an anonymous identifier. The Privacy Policy is part of these terms.
## 9. Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We aim to keep free features free and to preserve your data across updates, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will remain available forever, or that the App will work on every device or operating-system version.
## 10. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of any number the App shows, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. The numbers are illustrations built from a lifespan you chose; they are not facts about your life.
## 11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or well-being, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, or the equivalent of 25 US dollars, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
## 12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may end your access to premium features if the store reverses or refunds your purchase. Sections 3, 7, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
## 13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you additional rights, those rights are not affected by these terms. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by contacting us will be brought in the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt, unless mandatory law in your country requires otherwise.
## 14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will be noted in the App's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
## 15. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and the developer, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and are not responsible for any claim relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms for the iOS version and may enforce them against you.
