MUSEical Postcards 2020
This holiday season, spread some cheer by sharing your musical talents! Since we can’t perform for senior home residents like we usually do around this time, we’re bringing performances to them virtually. Like sending the seniors a postcard for the holidays, you’ll be able to record a piece or pieces of your choosing and we’ll deliver them to the three different senior homes we’ve performed for in the past: Arden Courts, Clairmont, and Renaissance, to bring them extra joy during this unusual time. Friends and family are always welcome to join in on the fun!
Instructions
You will record yourself playing a piece of music and submit the video to us through the form linked below so we can upload them to Youtube (everything will be unlisted and only accessible through our website) and send them over to the different senior homes.
What you perform would preferably be holiday related, but any well-prepared piece that you have ready is also appreciated!
Setup and Recording
Arrange your space so you can have your video recording device aligned so your upper body is in full view. Possible setups include putting your phone on your stand, putting your laptop on a surface such as a table and angling it towards your stand, etc.
Start the video recorder. Make sure to face the camera and introduce yourself! A smile goes a long way.
Introduce yourself and the piece you will be playing.
Play to the best of your ability! Remember this is a performance and that you’re sharing your musicianship with an audience.
Once you’re done playing, face the camera again and say a closing message of your choice. A generic holiday greeting would suffice. Examples include: “happy holidays,” “Merry Christmas,” “Wishing you a happy near year!” and so on.
Fill out this form to submit your recordings (see Submission Requirements below first). Upload your video to the form, and you’re done!
