Auditions will be held after school the week of January 26thÂ
Auditions for Marching Falcon 2026 student leadership will be held the week of January 26th. Please see the requirements for each section below. Sign-ups for auditions will be posted outside of the band room when students return from winter break. If a middle school student is signing up, they will need to message Mrs. Blevins after winter break, and she can work with them to get them signed up for a time slot.
All students must express their intent to audition for leadership by January 16th for Mrs. Blevins to complete teacher evaluation forms. An evaluation form will be sent to all of the students 1st first-semester teachers for them to provide feedback on how the auditionee worked and behaved in their classroom. Students need to message Mrs. Blevins via Student Square to express their intent to audition. Failure to complete this will result in the cancellation of the audition by Mrs. Blevins, and you will not be allowed to audition for that season.
Students need to plan to dress professionally as if this were a job interview. If students need help finding professional clothing, they should reach out to Mrs. Blevins at least two weeks before auditions. Below you will find examples of clothing that is considered unprofessional and wearing will severely hurt your audition score:
Sweatshirts
Pajamas
Jeans
Athletic apparel
Marching Band sign-ups will begin on March 2nd, 2026. If it is deemed that another position needs to be made for a section, for example, if we originally only had a brass captain, but we have many students sign up for brass, the position will be split into high brass captain and low brass captain. A new audition will occur to fill the other position.
Students must earn these positions; just because only one person auditions for the part does not mean that they will automatically receive the position. If the judges deem that a student did not properly prepare for the audition, but they were the only person to audition, then the position will be left empty and re-auditioned at a later date. The audition committee will also consider the student's entire previous season with the Marching Falcons before making a selection. The following elements hold weight when discussing a student's role on the leadership team:
Attendance
Responsibility
Character
Attitude
School behavior during both the season and the off-season
Treatment of other members of the ensemble
Academic standing
If students need Mrs. Blevins to print anything off for them, they need to message her via StudentSquare
