News and Updates

June 2026:  WOK has been very busy this year.  Our 2025-26 season finished with three west Ottawa groups and one new east Ottawa group, comprising 45 members, 72 home knitters and 24 students.  Between us we donated 5,126 items to our various charities.  The West Carleton Country Knitters South group created another 3,154 items.

May 2026:  We launched our first East Ottawa Crocheters and Knitters group under the leadership of Sharon Letovsky. 

April 2026:  Paula Farmer, the woman who launched West Carleton Country Knitters and its many spin-offs was named as a Distinguished Woman of Ottawa for her achievements.  Congratulations Paula on this well-deserved honour.

2012:  The WCCK was delighted and excited to have won a People's Choice Award through the Kanata Chamber of Commerce. We were proudly named the 2012 Community Support/Non Profit Organization of the Year for West Carleton.
