Knitting and Crocheting for local charities
A warm welcome awaits you with West Ottawa Knitters groups.
Love to knit or crochet……but has your family outgrown the need for your projects? West Ottawa Knitters will always welcome you and your projects. Our groups are located in the Bayshore, Crystal Beach and Kanata areas.
Never knitted or crocheted……but always wanted to try? We have simple patterns and supplies available for you to try out this new activity.
We have three aims, all of which we happily meet:
Provide warm knitted or crocheted items for our chosen charities;
Work with donated yarn, which means unwanted yarn becomes recycled and useful; and
Enjoy the company of other like minded people in our group get-togethers and twice-yearly Pot Luck lunches.
We use donated yarn and supplies to make much-needed articles for local charities. We each work on whatever we want to make at our own pace and there's no pressure to produce at every meeting! In fact, it’s a great way to de-stress.
Meet up with other members at bi-weekly meetings in members' homes to exchange ideas and tips, and to enjoy the company of a welcoming, lively group of fellow knitters and crocheters. If you unable to join us for our regular meetings, we will gladly drop off supplies and pick up your finished projects.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level (expert or novice), age, gender, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. We have no religious or political affiliations, and there are no fees to join any of our groups.
