WGMS offers choir in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. 7th and 8th grade students seeking further involvement in vocal ensembles are able to audition for Class Act Junior. 

6th Grade Choir involves training in two-part vocal literature, fundamental vocal technique, and sight singing and music literacy skills. Written work will be required. Attendance at all performances is part of students’ grades.

7th Grade Choir  includes training in two and three-part vocal literature, proper vocal technique, and sight singing and music literacy skills. Written work will be required. Attendance at all performances is part of students’ grades.

8th Grade Choir includes training in vocal production with special attention to the changing voice. Students will sing in three and four part harmony. Lessons in music theory and music history will deepen student understanding of performance literature. Written work will be required. Attendance at all performances is part of students’ grades.

Class Act Junior meets on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30-3:20PM. This auditioned ensemble focuses on a cappella singing, specifically pop repertoire, and performs at all WGMS choir concerts as well as additional performances in the community. Auditions for Class Act Junior will take place on Tuesday October 21st from 2:30-3:30PM.
