Mack Brazelle is a Fingerprint Specialist with the federal government and has been an IAI Certified Latent Print Examiner since 2007. As the owner of Mack Brazelle Training, he teaches classes on both latent analysis and courtroom testimony. Mack is a Distinguished Member of the IAI and chaired the Latent Print Identification Science and Practice Subcommittee for ten years.
Jason Cole is a Senior Technical Sales Specialist for Foster + Freeman. Jason because his career as a police officer in Utah working for Sandy City Police, where he worked his way up to Detectives investigating juvenile crime and domestic violence. Jason’s forensic training began with Sandy PD and led him to a Forensic Investigator job at West Valley PD (UT), where he not only responded to crime, but also developed the latent prints collected and examined them. In 2007, Jason was promoted to Forensic Director of the West Valley City PD Forensic Unit. In 2010, Jason moved to Las Vegas where he accepted a position as Latent Print and Footwear Examiner with the Henderson Police Department. Jason’s volunteer service includes the BOD for the Utah Division of the IAI and Nevada, he served as president for both organizations. Jason works part-time as a LPE for Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Jason serves on the BOD for the IAI.
Melissa Kimbrell has been a member of the Amped Software team as a Trainer and Technical Support Specialist since May 2022. Before coming to Amped Software, she worked as a Forensic Scientist focusing on Audio/Video Forensics and Photography at The Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory in Austin, Texas, where she still lives.
Melissa is a Certified Forensic Video Examiner through the International Association for Identification (IAI), a Certified Forensic Video Technician through the Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA), and a member of the Video and Imaging Technology and Analysis Subcommittee of the Digital Multimedia Scientific Area Committee (OSAC).
Glenn Langenburg is a certified latent print examiner and has been performing fingerprint examinations for 26 years. He manages a consulting business (Elite Forensic Services, LLC) which provides training to fingerprint examiners and consultations for casework. Glenn has a Ph.D. in Forensic Science from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. His thesis, “A Critical Analysis and Study of the ACE-V Process”, focuses on decision-making and the application of ACE-V. Glenn has lectured internationally at forensic science conferences on topics including Daubert, probabilistic approach, error rates, and fingerprint methodology. He co-hosts a podcast, “The Double Loop Podcast”, on fingerprint topics with Eric Ray.
Jessica Liang is the owner and lead instructor of Finer Points Forensics. She is an IAI certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst, forensic specialist, educator, and content creator dedicated to training the next generation of forensic professionals.
Jessica holds a masters in Forensic Science. She started her career in 2011 with LASD as a 911 dispatcher before promoting to forensic specialist. In 2022, she transferred to LAPD. Jessica has conducted over 1,000 crime scene investigations ranging from burglaries to death and OIS.
Along the way, Jessica discovered her passion for teaching and training which is why in 2023 she launched Finer Points Forensics. Jessica believes in providing practical, fun, and experience-based training. She is committed to passing down her strong commitment to serving with competence, integrity and confidence to the up-and-coming generation of forensic professionals.
Eric Ray is a Certified Latent Print Examiner working for IDEMIA as a Subject Matter Expert to recommend improvements, develop training, and interact with customers. As a member of the IAI, Eric is on the Editorial Board of the JFI and chaired the Special Committee on Latent Print Probability Modeling. He is an affiliate of the OSAC Friction Ridge Subcommittee developing standards for the field. Eric has developed and presented lectures, workshops, and training classes on multiple topics, including on Reducing Erroneous Exclusions. In his spare time, he also co-hosts the Double Loop Podcast with over 250 episodes
Danica Scales is a Forensic Identification Specialist with a large agency in Southern California. She’s been working in the forensic field since 2017, and her responsibilities include crime scene investigations, latent print development, latent print comparisons, and AFIS submissions.
Outside of her work in forensics, Danica participates in yoga and other forms of movement. Her personal experiences and career journey have fostered her passion for sharing mindfulness, movement, and accessible resources to build resilience with other forensic professionals.
Dr. Meredith Tise is the owner of Suncoast Forensics, where she provides practical forensic training and serves as a consulting forensic anthropologist for several medical examiner and coroner offices nationwide. Additionally, Dr. Tise serves as the Forensic Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, where she manages ANAB forensic accreditation for the latent print and crime scene disciplines. Her professional experience includes work with the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office, the USF Institute of Forensic Anthropology and Applied Sciences, and History Flight, where she led recovery operations for WWII American service members.
Dr. Tise has conducted forensic anthropological analyses throughout the United States and internationally and has contributed to research involving over 2,000 skeletal remains. Dr. Tise holds a Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology from the University of South Florida and serves as a technical assessor for the ANSI National Accreditation Board in the Anthropology discipline.
Scott Miller Vargas is a Crime Scene Investigator with the Parker Police Department in Colorado and an experienced forensic science educator with more than a decade of experience in crime scene investigations, evidence processing, and documentation. He specializes in crime scene investigation, forensic photography, bloodstain pattern documentation, shooting reconstruction, and 3D technology.
Scott has processed and documented a wide range of cases, from property crimes to homicide investigations, and has testified in numerous state and federal courts. He serves as an instructor for LE recruits and university-level forensic science students, helping develop the next generation of forensic professionals. Scott holds certifications as Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst and Certified Forensic Photographer through the IAI and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Forensic Science degree with a concentration in Firearms and Toolmarks at Oklahoma State. He is the owner of The Curious CSI, which provides education, training, and specialized products.
