About Us
The Western Bayfield County Historical Society (WBCHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and sharing the rich history of Western Bayfield County and the surrounding communities.
Our museum in Iron River showcases photographs, artifacts, documents, and stories that celebrate the people, businesses, industries, schools, churches, railroads, farms, and traditions that shaped our region.
Through exhibits, educational programs, community events, and historical preservation projects, we strive to connect future generations with the past while honoring those who built our communities.
Whether you are a lifelong resident, a first-time visitor, or someone researching your family’s roots, we invite you to explore our museum and discover the history that makes Western Bayfield County unique.
