New Journey

Posted 18 Dec 2020

This time last year none of us could have foreseen the changes that would have such an impact on our daily lives. The words that accompanied the announcement of the first lockdown in March-” two weeks to flatten the curve” seem a distant memory. Against all the odds we have manged to keep taiji sessions going, rain or shine we have continued to gather. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has come along to support me in my rebellion! Our small groups are strong and the depth of the strength among us continues to grow as we pull together spiritually. We have no way of knowing what 2021 will bring but we will roll with it all and the outdoor sessions will continue.

It has been an incredible journey for me these last few months, a deep time of reflection in the way West Devon Tai Chi is going. Life will never go back to how it was and indoor classes, workshops, and for me Bristol training with Ben, is a path I have decided to pull away from. The outdoor sessions have been great and, I feel intuitively, they are the way forward. They offer a sense of freedom and such brilliant therapy being out in nature. So my friends, that is how it is. This is the last entry for the journal but not the end of the West Devon Tai Chi journey. I hope you will embrace and share the new journey with me in 2021 and beyond-one of sharing Taiji, friendships, laughs and lots of hugs!

Nature remembers what we humans have forgotten

Every cycle must return to stillness, silence, the dark

Every out breath requires an in breath

Every endeavour turns back, to its origins, its centre, and begins again

From death comes new life, and from the darkest night,

the new dawn is born

Winter Solstice blessings, love and light to you all
