Hi! Our names are Ava Hoffman and Elise Preston and we are incoming 9th graders at Westborough High School. We have been working on our Girl Scout Silver Award for quite a while now and we are excited to share it with you. Our project was focused around Self Defense and Women's Empowerment. For the main piece of our project, we lead a class teaching younger girls some self defense moves and how to be prepared for the worst. Based on the reviews we got, the girls left the classes feeling strong and empowered. We then created a book display in the Library's teen room with books relating to self defense and women's empowerment. The list of books is attached below, please go check it out!
Troop 65048 Bronze Award (2024)
Our Junior Girl Scout Troop 65048 made a lost and found box for the mill pond trails for our bronze award. We thought of ideas to do something at Mill Pond school because we all currently go to Mill Pond. We brainstormed more ideas but instead of doing something in Mill Pond we decided to do something in the Mill Pond trails. We brainstormed ideas to make trail maps or a scavenger hunt to put up and maybe to clean up the trails more and we also brainstormed to do a lost and found. We found out that the Mill Pond trails already have maps in the trails. Then we thought that doing a lost and found box would really help because we noticed on the trails that people seemed to lose a lot of stuff on the trails. We decided to do 1 lost and found in the beginning of the trails. We also thought it would be a good idea to do vibrant colors so people can see it. We learned a lot during this experience!
