Event Notes 

Event Overview 

Orienteering Skills Weekend 2024 begins on October 25th at 1730 and will conclude on Sunday October 27nd at 1200. 

Troops are responsible for bringing their own camping gear and food for the event. 

They are highly encouraged to bring ingredients for chili since there will be a Chili Cookoff Competition Saturday night.

1x Orienteering Compass (picture shown to the right) 

1x Blue Card (for merit badge certification) 

Directions and Parking

Directions 

From the North via NY Route 32: 

  Follow Route 32 until Smith Clove Rd 

  Take a left on Smith Clove Rd 

  Follow Smith Clove Rd to Proctoria Rd 

       Take a right on Proctoria Rd 

From the South via US Highway 6: 

Follow Highway 6 until Route 32

Go north on Route 32 until Smith Clove Rd 

Take a right on Smith Clove Rd 

Follow Smith Clove Rd to Proctoria Rd 

         Take a right on Proctoria Rd  

Parking 

Parking Procedures: 

Vehicles will be directed along the route above by cadets in reflective belts. 

Troop vehicles can go to their designated campsites to unload large gear and then proceed to the parking area. 

Please have your large/heavy gear easily accessible to unload quickly by the campsite. 

Trailers are no longer allowed to remain next to the campsite and the same rules for vehicles apply. 

Please carpool due to limited parking space availability. 

This parking plan is to act in accordance with Lake Fredrick's policy and we appreciate your cooperation. Please ask a cadet to help move your stuff.
