West Indian Herping provides field support for researchers, university students and other professionals carrying out wildlife research in Trinidad & Tobago.
Our team has experience locating and working with a range of wildlife groups in the field, including reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and other species.
Depending on the project, we may be able to assist with:
Locating target species in the field
Field handling and identification
Specimen collection where legally permitted
Site selection and local field knowledge
Field transport and logistics
Night fieldwork and biodiversity surveys
Assistance with research sampling and field methods
General field support for visiting researchers and students
Support is arranged according to the needs of each project.
Research assistance depends on the species involved, project location, field methods, timing and the scope of support required.
Where permits or other legal approvals are required, researchers are responsible for ensuring the appropriate permissions are in place before fieldwork begins.
