Professional Science Master's Degree: The MMB Program gives students the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to enter the workforce after undergoing two years of interdisciplinary coursework that teaches the graduates professional development skills, presentation skills, networking, scientific techniques, good lab practice, and an overall sense of understanding in scientific research.
Industry Practicum Projects: Over the course of two years, each student in the MMB program will work in teams on three different practicum projects. The students will work directly with industry leaders from local companies in North Carolina and consult with them on a regular basis on how they can improve their business or tackle a unique issue or new business strategy the company is facing.
Interdisciplinary Curriculum: The MMB program employs coursework from multiple disciplines and allows their students to specialize in particular areas of biotechnology. A combination of MBA classes along with science-based course work gives students a diverse skillset in tackling real world problems and industry initiatives. The MMB program has six concentrations: Agricultural Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, Clinical Development, Human Health, and Data Science.
Dual Degree MBA Option: The MMB program also allows its students to participate in MBA coursework allowing students to pursue an MBA degree from the NC State Poole College of Management.
