Principal Investigator
Wenzheng Heng is an Assistant Professor at the School of Integrated Circuits, Peking University. He received his B.Eng. degree in Mechatronic Engineering from Zhejiang University and his Ph.D. degree in Medical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He conducted postdoctoral research at Caltech (Advisor: Professor Wei Gao). In 2026, he joined Peking University.
His research focuses on integrated microsystems for chemical and biological sensing and in situ biochemical sensing, spanning the interdisciplinary areas of microelectronics, biochemical sensing, micro/nanofabrication, and biomedical engineering. He is the recipent of China National Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, Category A (Special Prize), the MRS Graduate Student Award (Gold Award), and the Demetriades-Tsafka-Kokkalis Prize in Biotechnology (Caltech's yearly sole recipient).
