It is always easier to procrastinate than to do what you need to do, but anxiety often grows in time. Sounds like you? You are not alone. As a victim of procrastination, here is one of my favorites from PHD Comics.

The Erdős* number is the minimum number of degrees of separation between an author and Paul Erdős, by measuring the authorship of collaborative papers. For those who are not familiar with Paul Erdős, he is a renowned mathematician (1913-1996, photo on the left), born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary. He spent his life mostly by traveling with a suitcase from campus to campus, from seminar to seminar, from conference to conference, from a friend's house to another. Well known for "my brain is open" and collaborations with other mathematicians, he solved many open problems and published around 1,500 mathematical papers. His research outcomes contribute to combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, probability theory, and many other areas. Because of his prolific output, his friends created the Erdős number as a tribute.
I am not a mathematician. My Erdős Number is 6, which also validates the Six Degrees of Separation.
