My First Internship & First Job
In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I secured my first paid internship at the Teen Center. Throughout the summer, I assisted elementary students in summer school, helping them with their assignments. I continued the internship throughout the school year, working with 4th and 5th graders. At the beginning of 2022, I was promoted to lead my own group of students for the remainder of the school year. In this role, I assisted Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students with their homework. I was later assigned to a private school, where the curriculum was more advanced, presenting a new challenge. Despite this, I successfully adapted, earning the trust and engagement of my students.I worked with children throughout my senior year and part of the following summer, and it was an incredibly fulfilling experience. I hope to have the opportunity to work with children again in the future.
I am a proud 2022 alumna of Sonoma Valley High School, home of the Dragons. Throughout my four years, I was actively involved in my school community. I was a dedicated member of Future Farmers of America (FFA), participating in the FFA Speaking Competition in 2019, where our team placed third, and attending the FFA Made for Excellence (MFE) Conference in 2020. Additionally, I was part of the AVID program for all four years, helping me develop strong academic and leadership skills. I served as the treasurer for Latinx, a club dedicated to promoting and celebrating Latin culture. I was also a member of Link Crew for two years, where I helped underclassmen transition into high school by fostering friendships and creating a welcoming environment. Academically, I challenged myself by taking Advanced Spanish for three years and successfully completing the AP exams. While I was not involved in sports, I actively engaged in various student organizations that allowed me to contribute to my school community in meaningful ways. I also made sure to enjoy my high school experience, especially my senior year.
