Welly (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how Welly collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Welly mobile application (“the App”).
Welly is designed as a self-reflection and wellbeing support tool. It is not a medical or mental health service, and it does not provide diagnoses or treatment.
Welly collects only the information necessary to provide its core features.
You may voluntarily provide:
Text check-ins (typed reflections)
Voice recordings (if you choose voice check-ins)
Self-reported inputs (e.g. stress level, sleep quality)
Journal entries
When you use the app, Welly may generate:
Summaries and insights based on your check-ins
Emotion labels and themes derived from your input
Usage metadata (e.g. timestamps of check-ins)
With your explicit consent, Welly may request:
Microphone access – only to record voice check-ins
Notifications – to send reminder alerts (optional)
Welly does not access your contacts, photos, camera, or precise location.
Welly gives you full control over how your data is stored.
Depending on your privacy settings, the app may:
Store only summaries
Store text transcripts
Store audio recordings
Or store nothing beyond the current session
By default:
Audio and transcripts are not shared
Data is stored locally on your device
You can change these settings at any time in Profile → Privacy
Welly uses AI technology to generate summaries, themes, and reflections.
Audio or text may be processed temporarily to generate insights
AI processing is used only for app functionality
We do not use your data to train public AI models
We do not sell or share your data for advertising
AI outputs are supportive reflections, not medical advice.
Your data is used only to:
Provide check-in summaries and insights
Display your history and progress
Send reminders (if enabled)
Improve app reliability and performance
Welly does not:
Sell personal data
Run ads
Track you across apps or websites
Data is stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated
We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect your information
You may delete your data at any time from within the app
Because data may be stored locally, uninstalling the app may remove stored information.
You can:
Delete individual check-ins
Disable audio or transcript storage
Switch to summary-only mode
Delete all app data from the Profile screen
We do not retain deleted data.
Welly is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 where required by law).
We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us so we can remove the data.
Welly is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or professional mental health care.

Welly may use trusted third-party services for:
AI processing
Crash reporting
App performance monitoring

You can exercise most of these rights directly within the app.
