Youth Healing Space Initiative is a student-led initiative by a group of four students from Scots College, focused on raising awareness and funds for youth mental health support. Our project centres around supporting a youth mental health centre and highlighting the importance of accessible care for young people.
On this site, you’ll find information about child mental health, details about our fundraising efforts, updates on our progress, and ways you can get involved or support the cause. We’ve also included resources, insights from our research, and reflections from our journey over the course of the project.
This website is a space where we share what we’ve learned, what we’re doing, and why this cause matters.
The facilities at CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) are often under pressure due to the growing demand for mental health suppport in the youth of Wellington. Many spaces can feel outdated, overcrowded and lacking in comfort, which can make it difficult for youth to feel safe, calm and supported whilst recieving treatment or care.
Using AI, this is the type of changes we are aiming to make to the rooms in CAMHS, the room on the right looks sterile, harsh and more like a hospital, whilst the room on the left looks more inviting and comfortable, this is one of the many rooms we are planning to change.
By donating to our project through this website, or through other means, you can help support the youth of Wellington be their happiest and healthiest selves every single day.
