Starting my career the fall after earning my undergraduate degree and teaching High School math for 6 years was a thrilling ride with many lessons learned for myself and the students. In order to support students through differentiation, I need to know the students' strengths, weaknesses and/or interests and build a classroom community that revolves around respect for all learners. When many students were unable to keep track of papers and asked for multiple copies, I took it upon myself to develop this site with all of the content we covered in lessons. In addition to these scaffolded lessons from the CT moodle math curriculum, aligned to the common core state standards for math, I often group or partner students based on their level or interest. Frequent integration of technology, manipulatives and high interest activities that are explicitly explained will also help meet students at their level. Consistently implementing multiple math practices in every lesson is something I really pride myself on because it allows students to access the tools necessary to be successful when practicing math. Continually assessing and adjusting the lesson, content or pace is crucial.
