Karina Alfaro-Moreno

Short bio

Karina Alfaro-Moreno is an Associate Professor in Quantitative Methods for Economics and Business in the Department of Economics at the Universidad de Alcalá. She holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentina) and a PhD in Economics from the Universidad de Alcalá. She has developed her professional career in both the public and private sectors and has worked as an external research advisor for several institutions, including the Universidad de Alcalá, the Spanish Institute of Tourism Studies, and regional government departments of the Community of Madrid. She has participated in several publicly funded research projects. Her main research interests focus on the construction of composite indicators using statistical methods, particularly those related to the measurement of well-being through income distribution, such as poverty, inequality, and social classes.
