SpectraPlot is a free web-based application for simulating atomic and molecular absorption and emission spectra using the HITRAN, HITEMP, and NIST databases. It was developed in 2014 by Prof. Christopher S. Goldenstein and his colleagues Dr. Victor Miller, Prof. R. Mitchell Spearrin, and Dr. Christopher L. Strand to facilitate the use of spectroscopic databases. Prof. Wei currently serves as the main backend developer of SpectraPlot. The SpectraPlot community has now grown to include ≈2500 users in over 70 countries, and SpectraPlot has been used to perform more than 2.3 million simulations.
