SEE YOU IN THE FALL
Over our two running years, we have held numerous events, such as Cloud Share, Sustainability Fest, Cloudy with a Chance of Coffee, and had the opportunity to present at a conference.
Check out what we have coming up: Calendar
At Sustainability Fest (SFEST), you could find a variety of booths, all promoting sustainabile practices. WeCloud offered free clothes, electronics, and textbooks, for all students to pick up, no limits, and gave away a NatureBee Starter Kit! Book Club handled the book station and shared about their community building initatives. Engineering Outreach featured a booth to plant flowers and use Microbits for soil moisture detection, with a chance to win a Microbit in a draw. The Sustainability Office hosted a a Repair Cafe where volunteers taught you how to fix items like jewelry and bikes, alongside e-waste and battery recycling. Enactus showcased student sustainability projects and hosted a bottle drive using AI to recycle bottles into filament, with giveaways for self-watering plant pods.

Our presentation explained our initiative: how it started, who we are, the purpose, and its effects so far. We hosted an activity using donated books we have collected. Participants wrote a personalized note, and placed it inside the books. These gift packages were then given away at our events, for someone to find the kind notes as a surprise. We also held a brainstorming session to come up with ideas for sustainable initiatives that could be held in a classroom (e.g., hosting mini cloud shares in class, holding Tupperware drives, etc.).

Cloudy with a Chance of Yarn combined our Cloudy with a Chance of Coffee event with, The Stitching Nook's (knitting and crochet club) Stitch n' chill! This community building and laid back event gave students an opportunity to hang out in a relaxing environment with drinks, snacks, and of course, crafts!
Cloud Share is our main event: it is where we display all of our collected donations in a thrift-store like manner. We ensure all our items are in good condition, and organize them by category. Students are then welcomed to browse and check out items just as they would in a store. It has been an enjoyable event for all students, with wonderful turn outs. This Cloud Share we supported about 55 students, giving away almost 200 items!
CWACOC is definitely a fan favorite; it is a relaxing event where students can hang out or work with access to snacks and warm drinks, right on campus!
This event is held by the Ontario Tech Student Union, and gives clubs the opportunity to share about their initiatives. We hosted a trivia to raise awareness about current environmental issues, and gave away reusable grocery bags to our winners!
This was our first SFEST, which began through our collaboration with our university's Sustainability Office. WeCloud offered free clothes, electronics, and textbooks, for all students to pick up (Cloud Share). The Sustainability Office hosted a booth with fair trade bananas and organic honey. The Stitching Nook showed students how to make grocery bags using plastic bags as yarn. Engineering Outreach featured a booth to plant flowers (and take them home) and use Microbits to demonstrate soil moisture detection. Enactus showcased student sustainability projects and hosted a bottle drive using AI to recycle bottles into filament.

This was our first ever Cloud Share, which at the time was known as "Trade-off." It was quite a treat to see the expressions of students as they realized that all these items were truly free. It brightened up a lot of faces, and made all of our work thus far extremely worth it.
WeCollect is truly the start of it all: these are the weekly booths we host for students and faculty to drop-off their items. Situated in the busy atriums of our campus, weCollect has also served as an opportunity for us to expand our reach to passerbys.
