We are a team of five female students from Helsinki. Our team has eagerly been waiting for a chance to participate. Three of us were chosen to compete in the 2020 CanSat competition in Norway. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to participate in the CanSat 2020.
All in our team, WeCan, share a passion for learning new things, and we see the CanSat competition as a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge fields such as physics, programming and electronics.
We are very proud of representing girls and women in a very male dominated branch. Through our work we'd like to inspire young women to continue their studies and career in science.
Let's present our team:
Vivian Ljungqvist: Budgeter and planner, as well as coder of the secondary mission
Anna Koski: Coder, helping Vivian with everything from hoodies to printing flyers
Alicia Strömberg: Responsible for our instagram account (@wecansat), purchasing the last electronics and assisting Vivian with 3D-printing
Sofia Åminne: Responsible for our presentation in Vaasa, assisting with building
Tove Tiedemann: Responsible for creating and maintaining this web site and publicity, such as flyer designing and perhaps contacting some news paper
Last but not least our physics teacher, Jonas Waxlax: Coach and coordinator of the project
If we get further to the European competition Alicia, Sofia and Tove will also, eventually, take part in some programming.
Ida Berghäll: Coder and programmer of the primary mission
Elin Sandfors: Parachute and exterior designer
Sofie Savander: Responsible for social media and documentation
Due to an unfortunate overlap Sofie Savander, Elin Sandfors and Ida Berghäll had to leave the team and the new members Tove Tiedemann, Alicia Strömberg and Sofia Åminne were recuited.
