Here is our working agenda:
- In the first phase of the webquest you will have to collect useful information (you'll find the thinglink in the section RESOURCES).
- In the second phase share your group's notes, maps and answers in this Padlet.
- In the third phase, create a slogan related to the topic assigned to your group that aims to encourage environmentally friendly everyday behaviour, both at home and at school.
This poster will be presented to the class teachers first and then will be shown in the school corridors and shared with the other students of the Institute.
In order to accomplish the task, you will have to not only work but also collaborate in the different groups with the following guiding questions:
GROUP 1:SOURCES OF ENERGY.
What's the main difference between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy?
Can you give some examples of renewable and non renewable sources of energy?
Are energy sources unlimited?
What are the impacts of our energy use?
GROUP 2: WATER.
Take notes about plastic pollution in the sea and collect some relevant data.
How many tons of plastics ends up in the Mediterranean sea every year?
What can people do to avoid an ecological disaster?
How much water is there on our planet?
How much of this water can be used by men?
Is this resource equally shared?
How can you save water every day?
GROUP 3: TRASPORTS.
Is your school eco friendly?
How do people (students, teachers, school staff) get to school?
Are hybrid cars common in our families?
Make some interviews to your teacher and your classmates and summarize here their answers.
GROUP 4: GREEN AREAS.
Why are trees important for the environment?
What is the "Trees in the city" challenge? Who launched it? When?
Is there any Italian city who takes part in this challenge?
GROUP 5: WASTE.
What are the 5 groups you can separate waste into?
Are there any materials you can't recycle?
Which countries produce more waste per person?
GROUP 6: SUSTAINABILITY.
What are the 3 key words of SUSTAINABILITY?
What is it?
Why is it important?
What do the United Nations say about it?
GROUP 7: BIODIVERSITY.
What is it?
Why is it so important?
What are the 3 features of biodiversity?
What is a keystone organism?
In each group, everyone has to work together to achieve the common goal!
So, first of all answer these questions (you'll find the answers in the texts selected for your group), then write at least two suggestions for our school community to invite everyone to take care of our Earth.
The two slogans should be copied on a white paper so that we can create a big poster with the suggestions of all groups.
When your group will paste the sentences on the poster you'll have to motivate and explain your choices.
Once completed, the poster will be displayed inthe main school corridor.
