Welcome to WebPurify, a mobile application owned and managed by Purify Security. We are dedicated to providing a secure digital environment through advanced content filtering and self-control tools.
This Privacy Policy explains how we treat your information. Unlike most applications in the market, WebPurify is built on the "Zero Data Collection" principle. We believe that your digital recovery and productivity should not come at the cost of your privacy.
1. Information Collection and Usage
No Account Requirement: WebPurify does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, name, or phone number. All app functionalities are available without the need for personal registration.
No Browsing Logs: We never store, log, or record your browsing history, the apps you open, or the content you attempt to access. Our filtering technology operates in real-time, making a "Block or Allow" decision and immediately discarding the request.
In-App Settings: Any configurations you set within the app (such as custom blocklists or protection timers) are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
User Progress and Journey Data: Any data regarding your recovery progress, such as your "Streak" or days of offensive in the Journey tab, is stored securely and exclusively in your device's local database. We do not transmit, sync, or back up this highly personal data to any cloud servers.
Device Sensors (S.O.S Feature): Our S.O.S feature utilizes your device’s motion sensors (such as the accelerometer) in real-time to provide interactive grounding exercises. We strictly do not record, collect, or transmit any physical motion data from your device.
2. Advanced Technical Permissions (APIs)
WebPurify requires specific Android permissions to function. Unlike other services, we process all data locally on your device:
Accessibility API: This is used to provide the "Anti-Delete Shield" and content blocking. It allows the app to read on-screen text in real-time solely to detect if you are accessing blocked content or trying to disable protection in System Settings. We do not record, store, or transmit any text, messages, or passwords read by this API.
Additionally, this API is utilized to provide the 'App Blocking' (Focus Mode) feature, identifying when a user attempts to open a specific application they have chosen to restrict, and immediately closing or blocking it to support their digital wellness.
AI Visual Protection: To analyze on-screen content (pixels) in real-time. This allows the app to detect and block explicit images or visual triggers.
Zero-Trace Processing: All image analysis is performed locally on your device via Edge AI technology. We do not record, save, store, or transmit any screenshots, images, or personal data read by this API to any external servers. The process is ephemeral and happens entirely in the device's volatile memory.
VpnService: We use a local VPN interface to filter DNS queries. This is the core of our blocking system. No personal internet traffic is routed through a remote proxy for monitoring. All filtering decisions happen locally or through our encrypted DNS resolvers.
Device Administrator: Used to prevent the accidental or impulsive uninstallation of the app..
3. Payment Processing
WebPurify offers premium features via in-app purchases. These transactions are processed exclusively through the Google Play Billing System. Purify Security does not have access to your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details. Your financial information is managed solely by Google.
4. Third-Party Links and Content
The app functions by blocking access to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any third-party websites that you may visit while the protection is inactive or for domains that are not part of our blocklists.
5. Children’s Privacy
WebPurify is intended for a general audience (13+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not require account creation, we do not possess a database of users' ages or identities. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us.
6. Security and Infrastructure
Our DNS filtering is powered by a private infrastructure hosted on encrypted servers (DigitalOcean). These servers process requests anonymously and ephemerally. We use industry-standard encryption to protect the communication between your device and our filtering nodes.
Our AI models (TensorFlow Lite) are embedded directly within the application, ensuring that sensitive visual data never leaves the safety of your local hardware.
7. Changes to This Policy
Purify Security may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our service or legal requirements. We encourage users to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
8. User Rights and Data Protection Laws (GDPR & LGPD): Because we operate on a strict Zero Data Collection architecture, we do not possess personal data to retrieve, alter, or delete upon request. We are fully committed to complying with global data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), by fundamentally ensuring your data never leaves your device.
