I am a postdoctoral researcher in Linguistics at the University of Austin, Texas, funded by the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme. My current project has a landing page on the Endangered Languages Archive here.
Previously, I received my PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2024. My dissertation documents and analyzes the syntax of Kawahíva, a highly endangered language (around 560 speakers) spoken in the Brazilian Amazon. This work focuses on clausal structure and relativization in the language.
My work builds on novel data that I collect through community-oriented fieldwork on several of the eight ethnic varieties of Kawahíva. This work has led me to develop several resources for the language, including a dictionary and a keyboard, among others. See my CV for further on my work!
