Dr. Piyush Srivastava is currently an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management (CoEDMM), Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Visiting Researcher at University of Leeds. He joined IIT Roorkee in May 2021 as an INSPIRE Faculty and transitioned to the role of Assistant Professor in May 2022. He did his Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, under Prof. Maithili Sharan on the topic "Modeling and Analyzing Surface Layer Processes for their Representation in Atmospheric Models". Following his doctoral studies, he pursued a Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Leeds with Prof. Ian Brooks from 2019 to 2021. Dr. Srivastava's research interests lie in Atmospheric Science and Boundary Layer Meteorology.

22-October-2024: Prof. Piyush delivered a lecture on Improving Surface Layer Parameterization for Extreme Weather Forecast by NWP Models at the System for Unprecedented Rainfall-induced Landslide Early Warning Techniques (SURE-ALERT) held at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, IISER Mohali.
06-May-2024: Prof. Piyush Srivastava delivered a lecture on "Climate Change and Climate Variability" at the Training course on Cryospheric Modelling and Hazards held at CoEDMM, IIT Roorkee, in collaboration with NIH Roorkee.
