SDG 4 – Quality Education: Ensuring inclusive and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all
SDG 5 – Gender Equality: Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Reducing inequality within and among countries
March 2026 - March 2027
Building on the first project phase, HAKI SASA 2.0 advances education as a pathway to justice, aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education. The project strengthens partnerships between schools in Tanzania and Berlin, fostering cross-cultural exchange and inclusive learning.
In Tanzania, we continue our collaboration with Elohim Education Center, exploring diverse educational contexts and comparing island and mainland schooling, including a Masai school in a rural area. Connections with a school on Zanzibar will highlight regional differences.
In Berlin, participants will visit inclusive programs, different schools and educational institutions, focusing on gender equality (SDG 5) and equal opportunities (SDG 10). A key objective is identifying a future German partner school to participate in the project.
Creative, participatory learning remains central. A new theatre production, developed with Faraja Arts Group in Tanzania and a team in Berlin guided by Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Opressed method, empowers participants to explore social issues, challenge inequalities, and collectively imagine solutions. The performance will take place in both Tanzania and Germany supporting both formal and informal education in both countries.
This year's project will expand educational networks, collaborating with other initiatives such as the Tanzania Network e.V., enabling meaningful exchange and cross-border dialogue.
HAKI SASA 2.0 demonstrates how inclusive, culturally aware, and participatory education can foster justice, equity, and collaboration across Tanzania, Germany and beyond.
