WAM! started as a result of Project 440's Doing Good Course in 2023. 

The mission of Project 440 is to teach young people how to use their interest in music to forge new pathways for themselves and ignite change in their communities.

Project 440 nurtures transferable skills such as collaboration, resiliency, and discipline that are inherently learned through music to develop high school students into entrepreneurial, civic-minded leaders. Project 440 teaches college readiness and the 21st century life skills young musicians need to be successful outside of the practice room and beyond the stage. Our programming provides the knowledge and skills students need to succeed and that will serve them throughout their lives—whatever path they choose including as performers or lifelong lovers of music.
