Yogurtland Fundraiser - July 1 & 2
Submit your 2022 Reflections entries now, expressing this year's theme, "Show Your Voice!"
Reflections is an annual program organized by the National PTA association to encourage and recognize students in the arts. Students submit artwork through the local program at each school and winning entries go on to compete at higher levels. Top prizes are awarded at the national level.
Students can enter in the following disciplines: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

Reflections Workshops @ Emerson Elementary
Need some help? Our friends at Emerson Elementary have organized the following Reflections inspiration nights. They are using a sign up system so the presenters know how many to expect as well as to receive zoom links.
In person presentations will take place in the Emerson auditorium located at 720 E Cypress Ave, Burbank, CA 91501
All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Amelia Heape Craft -visual arts sculptor
An expert crafter will lead a workshop on "the art of crafting with found objects"

Scriptwriter
Darla went to USC film school and has been a researcher and scriptwriter on many popular shows including Switched at Birth, Empire, Hip Hop Untold, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and many more. She will discuss how to make scripts.
October 3rd
Sophie Pierce
Please join Sophie Pierce as she shares her expertise on dance choreography. Sophie is the owner of Sophie's Dance 3rd, Sophie Dance West and Level Up Dance Academy. She teaches dance to children ages 2-18. Her studios have been in Los Angeles for 16 years. She is also the mother to 3 daughters in the Burbank Unified School District.

Cheryl Mann of Cheryl Mann Photography
A fellow parent in our community with both kids at Emerson. She will show you some great tips on how to take photographs. Bring your cameras or your phone and learn different techniques you can use.

"Storytelling through video"
Visual Effects for film - Dreamworks.. Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, Rise of the Guardians, Kung Fu Panda 2, Home, The Princess and the Frog, Penguins of Madagascar, How to Train your dragon 2, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, The Croods, Turbo, Madagascar 3, Puss in Boots.
He will be focusing on storytelling through video.

"How to create a song"
Kerry is a singer, songwriter, and composer. She is an Emerson, Muir, and BHS parent. She has toured in the US and the UK, and her songs have been featured on NPR and in indie films. Writing songs and singing them is her passion. She will speak about how to create a song.
