As a Clinical Educator, your insights and feedback are essential in shaping your intern’s professional growth. The Midterm and Final Evaluation Conferences provide opportunities to reflect, assess, and guide your intern’s development throughout the internship experience.
Your participation ensures a collaborative evaluation process that supports both accountability and professional learning — helping our future educators become confident, effective teachers.
Midterm Evaluation: Approximately halfway through the internship experience
Final Evaluation: During the last two weeks of the semester
Your Intern's Field Supervisor will contact you to schedule both meetings in advance.
You will receive an evaluation form via email to complete and review prior to the meeting.
This form provides a structured way to reflect on your intern’s performance across professional standards and instructional domains.
You, your intern, and the Field Supervisor (and Academic Supervisor, if applicable) will meet to discuss progress, strengths, and areas for continued growth.
The meeting serves as both a checkpoint and a coaching conversation, helping the intern set goals for improvement and celebrate successes.
Evaluation data will be submitted electronically by the Field Supervisor.
Feedback gathered during the conference will inform the intern’s overall performance rating and final grade recommendation.
Your professional judgment is highly valued in the evaluation process. The conversations and insights you share:
Provide a clear picture of the intern’s readiness for full-time teaching.
Help the Field Supervisor make informed decisions about final evaluations.
Strengthen the overall quality of our teacher preparation program.
