Biomedical Engineering
Connects many different forms of engineering including chemical, electrical, mechanical and biological.
Tips!
To find out which field is for you try research! It helps you explore multiple fields and find out what you like and dislike
Haley did a lot of undergrad research
Fruit fly lab
Bone related lab
Two internships with Toyota
Start early on college apps
If you are unsure what you want to do in engineering pick something general like mechanical or electrical engineering
Its okay if you do poorly on college exams - grades don't define you
Take up every opportunity you can! Learn whatever you can and explore as many fields as possible.
Talk to as many people and mentors as you can for support and advice.

Relevant areas of computer science/engineering: statistical computing/open source data science tools, like R or python, are widely used -- great to learn! Informatics (data analytics, imaging, and sensors), product security, and cloud based applications are also important developments.
Advice about STEM:
Create a support structure for yourself, don’t let anyone dictate what you want to do with your life, keep your connection with the subjects you are passionate about
Be open to trying different things; you might really enjoy new opportunities
Be more confident, you will get better results.
Don’t be afraid of changing your interests or plans
Don’t focus too much on the details at the cost of sacrificing the bigger picture
Takeaways:
Don’t restrict yourself; find something you’re passionate about, Stay curious, Don’t sacrifice your interests for your career, Stay flexible and resilient, find your passion!
