The mission of the League of Women Voters is to empower voters and defend democracy. We are a grassroots non-partisan organization and do not endorse political parties or candidates. Our Mesa County League acts locally on issues which are supported by positions adopted by LWV Colorado and LWVUS. These positions are adopted after study and member consensus. Our local League encourages members to pursue projects consistent with our mission, and to collaborate when it will benefit that mission. We welcome your participation! Website

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy climate change organization. We exist to create the political will for a livable world by enabling individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power. Although CCL is mostly focused on national policies to address the national and global climate crisis, Colorado CCL and our local chapters also focus on state and local climate policies.
Our core values are Focus, Optimism, Diversity, Relationships, Integrity, Being Nonpartisan, Personal Power.
CCL has five core activities that we focus on to create that political will – Lobbying, Media Relations, Grassroots Outreach, Grasstops Engagement, Chapter & Volunteer Development. We also work on non-partisan get out the vote activities.
CCL focuses on four policy areas – Carbon Pricing, Healthy Forests, Building Electrification and Efficiency and Clean Energy Permitting Reform.

We started to Save the Pool Committee in 2020 to try to save the Orchard Mesa Community Center Pool (OMCCP) when there was a real chance the OMCCP would be closed down. We have been advocating for 4 1/2 years now to keep the CCP open and our group has been instrumental and keeping it open until this point. We now have the majority of the City Council members that want to keep the pool open so we have renewed hope! Thank you so much for letting us add our group to your page as it would be nice to be able to advertise when we have events to get more community engagement 🥰 (FB page: Save Orchard Mesa Pool)
