We occasionally host community workdays and seasonal events to keep the gardens thriving, and all upcoming opportunities will be posted here. Check back throughout the year to see what’s happening and how you can get involved.
Our community garden thrives when everyone lends a hand. Throughout the season, there are small but important tasks that help keep our shared spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable for all gardeners. This page lists the current tasks that need attention around the garden and is updated at the beginning of each month.
Any areas which have landscape fabric, blue tarping, or black plastic showing through need to be covered for safety reasons. When you get chips, remember, there are roots and grass clumps in the mulch which should be pulled out so that the weeds don’t take root in paths or plots. There is a bucket next to the pile for this. When the bucket is full, dump into a paper bag and park it next to the picnic table.
The garden shed doors are in need of a replacement, so if you have any carpentry skills and would like to tackle this project, please contact Mary at washcocg@gmail.com. You will be reimbursed for any costs. After the doors are up, there will also be a need for painters. Please contact Mary if you are interested in painting the doors as well.
